I was practically born in network marketing. My father was a distributor for a large network marketing company for as long as I can remember, which is well before Al Gore created the internet. I grew up listening to tapes, watching home meetings and board presentations-using your own products and teaching others to do the same wasn’t just talk for me, that was a part of my life.

Twenty-something years later, it never struck me as strange that when I joined that same network marketing business, they were STILL using the same marketing techniques that were being used when I was a kid. Not having any marketing training myself, I didn’t know any better. I was ignorant to the methods that successful companies use to market their products or themselves.

So, I bought from myself, and taught others to do the same. I built the biggest list ever created in my sponsor’s downline to that point (I think that record still stands), and I called every one of those people I could get a hold of to “show the plan” to. I attended each and every meeting religiously, travelled miles with gas I didn’t have, and went to conferences I didn’t have the money for. What did I have to show for it? Strained relationships with old friends, no money and no gas!

Well, that’s not exactly true, I was able to develop a great friendship with one of my crossline buddies, which would have a profound impact on my life later…

I was down for the count, and I’ll make a confession: I gave up on this industry! I knew that the business itself was good, I just didn’t believe there was a way for ME to make it work. Little did I know how right I was…

About a year later, my friend contacted me about another business opportunity. The business itself sounded very promising, but what excited me beyond belief was an e-book I found online by Mike Dillard called “Magnetic Sponsoring”. This book completely changed my outlook on network marketing-this was the information I had waited 6 years for!!

In his book, Mike explained that the reason for my lack of success wasn’t a lack of work or effort, but a lack of knowledge. I was doing what I was told to do, but what I was told to do was based upon old assumptions, that just weren’t true anymore. The marketing techniques being taught by most network marketing companies today are contributing to the 97% failure rate of this industry. Cold calling, prospecting friends and family and buying leads are all quick ways to end up frustrated, alone and broke!

Fast forward to today, where I am once again excited about network marketing, and the tools I have in hand to be successful in it. But what excites me the most is being able to help others, just like you, who have been walking in the network marketing wilderness for far too long.

If you want to learn how to earn money whether a prospect joins your primary opportunity or NOT, this is the place for you. If you want to never have to go out prospecting again, this is the place for you.

If you don’t want to learn these things, then feel free to choose the blue pill, and go back to using the techniques you were using before you came across this blog. All that I offer here is information, education and inspiration. The choice of whether to accept those things is yours.
